My name is Jade. I am from South Africa and I was born into a very religious and close family. I am the second eldest of five children, as a result I am a natural nurturer, care giver and lover of children. I also have a handsome little boy of my own, whom I cherish with my whole heart.

Apart from tutoring children I also work part time as a sound engineer, film, production and event manager.
Because of my combined experience I have the ability to create vibrant yet stimulating lessons to students of all ages.

I have a classroom full of teaching props and unique materials as well as extra practice activites and educational games to play - for the days where there is time left over in our lesson. I strive to keep a positive relationship with my students by encouraging them and providing support where necessary.

In our first online lesson we will talk about your goals for learning English, what you expect from me as your teacher and what I am able to offer you. Thereafter I will meet you where you are by doing my absoulte best to help you reach your full potential and achieve your goals.

Educational background:

I attended primary school at Verney College, Rosettenville, matriculated from Waterstone College, obtaining a national senior certificate with the requirements to higher education for bachelor’s degree.

I completed two years of studies at the Academy of Sound Engineering in 2016, obtaining certificates in Avid Pro Tools and experience in live sound engineering, film and production editing.

I also completed one year of studies at Varsity College, majoring in criminal law.

The year 2020 brought unexpected challenges due to the COVID 19 pandemic which led me to complete a TEFL course, obtaining a level five diploma in teaching English as a foreign language.

Work experience:

Sound Engineering
• Engineered at many concerts, festivals and live productions.
• Studio Recording with various artists (SABC Media Park)
• Mixing and mastering audio files for various artists.

Film, Production and Event Management
• Planned, organized and produced multiple music videos for various artists.
• Produced and directed social media content for various companies, brands, activations and adverts.
• Designing flyers/banners and advertising online across all social media platforms.
• Worked for many amateur dramatic groups throughout Johannesburg in the past and worked as the lead engineer/technician

Teaching Experience
• Worked as an au pair for two years assisting a grade four and grade five child with homework activities, preparation for examinations and cycle tests as well as school projects and research assignments.
• Worked as a tutor for an intermediate class and assisted learners with various subjects, mainly English and Mathematics.
