My name is Clementine, I'm from England and I live in Colombia. I moved here last year, y ya me encanta todo de la cultura y la gente que he conocido! Some of my interests are the environment and sustainability, travelling, global issues, salsa dancing and music (different genres). I love learning about different countries and meeting new people - that's how I ended up living in Colombia!

I love to create engaging and fun lessons for my students that cover topics of their interest and in addition to this, use authentic materials such as songs, recipes and news articles that are created for native speakers. I can use topics from the UK (like our great music scene) and also from your own country so that we can experience a cultural exchange whilst learning.

I like to use a blend of Communicative Language Teaching and Task Based Language Learning methods. This is where the focus is first on communicative language practice, and the grammatical aspect is practiced and perfected naturally through communication tasks, such as role play or debates.

I am a Level 5 TEFL qualified (Merit) and British English teacher with 1 year of professional experience. Before qualifying, I volunteered in various organisations giving English classes to students of different ages and nationalities, and also to refugees in England.

Before completing my TEFL qualification, I earned a first class degree in Economics and International Development. This has given me good practice for academic essay writing and Economics-specific language.
