I have worked as an online Writing Coach for the past 18 years, and I have recently earned a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. Now I'd like to help non-native speakers improve their skills in reading, writing and speaking in English. I love working with people, both in groups and individually, and try hard to create a fun and interactive experience. As an ex-American living in the Netherlands, I understand the desire to communicate effectively in a foreign language, as well as the frustrations that can sometimes come with all the mistakes. But making mistakes is all part of the learning process, and I always try to focus on the positive while gently correcting errors with a smile. My name is Clementine, I'm from England and I live in Colombia. I moved here last year, y ya me encanta todo de la cultura y la gente que he conocido! Some of my interests are the environment and sustainability, travelling, global issues, salsa dancing and music (different genres). I love learning about different countries and meeting new people - that's how I ended up living in Colombia!

I love to create engaging and fun lessons for my students that cover topics of their interest and in addition to this, use authentic materials such as songs, recipes and news articles that are created for native speakers. Hello, my name is Duncan Campbell, an ESL teacher in Cape Town. I have been tutoring English, History, and Biology since high school. I have been teaching English online going on for four years now, and I have experience teaching children from the ages of 4 - 17 and adults to the age of forty-five, from all around the globe. First and foremost, I want to start with one of my favourite quotation from Richard Henry Dana(!) (I'm not sure whether this quotation belongs to him or not, but I liked it. :) “He who dares to teach must never cease to learn.” First of all, we as teachers must improve ourselves about everything such as cultural knowledge, technology, best seller books new novels etc. We should keep up with the times and try to understand our students.
Then we should know students’ interests, needs, backgrounds and their level of English / Turkish. If we know the aforementioned things, it would be easier for us to decide what kind of materials we can use to attract their attention. Also, one of the key points is that we should motivate the students to learn. As teachers we should teach our students why they learn language/grammar/vocabulary etc. rather than just memorization. Regarding teaching methods we can use student-centered methods. We should use examples from real life so they can broaden students’ knowledge. Also using examples from real life, help students to internalize the examples. I strongly believe that we should make our students acquire the language from all aspects including reading, listening, writing, and speaking.
All in all, as a teacher we have lots of things to do. One of our most important responsibilities’ is to help students to understand that they have enough power and capacity to learn a language if they are determined enough....

Hi! My name is Zachariah Holmes and I'm currently living in Bangkok, Thailand. I'm twenty-two years old and motivated to teach the English language so that people, like yourself, could learn the language confidently and use the language boldly. Some interesting facts about me? Well, I recently learned that I love making SPAM sandwiches. Wheat bread and mustard alongside Franks Red Hot sauce is my favorite combination when making SPAM sandwiches.
