About me

Hi there. It's Beverly from South Africa, but I recently moved to Japan.

enjoy travelling, watching movies and trying out new food recipes.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychological Counselling, and I received a 120-hour TEFL certificate. I have been teaching for more than 5 years now, both in the classroom and online, and I've loved every minute of it.

I am currently working as an English teacher at a Junior high school. I know how difficult it can be learning a new language because I have started taking Japanese lessons too.

I wish to make a fresh start this season by learning from, teaching and meeting new people and having opportunities to learn and grow. I have much to offer, but also, I have much to learn.

My education and experience

In 2020 I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Psychological Counselling in South Africa, and part of my training was working with people in different age groups, learning, observing and supporting them. Through these interactions I gained a lot of skills such as; Patience, working under pressure, Planning and organizing and administration skills. I began teaching at elementary school and that is when I was introduced to online teaching, which I have been doing for three years now.

I completed my 120-hour TEFL certificate and began teaching online. online teaching exposed me to people from different countries, specifically Asia. I enjoyed meeting new people and learning about their cultures and this made me broaden my view for my career. After two years, I decided to move to Japan.

In 2022 I started working as an English Instructor at a private language school , which included teaching online. I taught all age groups and all levels.

Now, I work as an Assistant language teacher at a junior high school.
