I'm Scott, a veteran English tutor. I've been teaching English since 2003. Since 2008 I have worked exclusively with adults with aspirations to go to college and university. I work with CEFR level B1 and above, and specialise in study skills and academic writing. I can help you prepare for entrance exams, or simply interact with you to improve your already confidence and performance.
You will find me to be complete with the qualities you would expect from someone who has been involved in the education of adults for over two decades. I am also very approachable and quick to earn your trust.

I am an Elocutionist and an ESL teacher. I do not just teach my students English, I also teach them the right pronounciation, enunciation and intonation. I teach my students not just to be Fluent in English but to be Eloquent.

I am currently a Public Speaking coach in my country. I teach adults and children how to be confident speakers of the English Language, and how to be great communicators.

I have taught people of all ages , children as well as grown-ups. I have taught French for 5 years and English for 3 years. I use different techniques for different people. I make my class very interesting and interactive.

Being a non-native speaker of English, I know exactly how to teach my fellow non- natives. I understand the challenges perfectly well and how to overcome it. Due to the fact that I have Elocution skill, my English is very clear and distinct that you will no problem hearing and understanding me.

I have the necessary language skills and knowledge to pass down to those endeavoring to use English to further their studies and career goals. After graduating in 2013, I embarked on a two-year adventure in North America, working in the Travel Amusement industry. In the personnel office, I assisted with hiring and onboarding, managing payroll, and handling administrative duties. Being far away from home for long periods of time, this position taught me to be strong, independent, self-reliant, flexible and resilient.

Upon returning to South Africa, I served as a Personal Assistant to a Managing Director in the Sports & Entertainment sector. This role enhanced my organizational and administrative skills, providing crucial support in a fast-paced industry.

I then transitioned to the automotive industry, where for four years, I thrived as a Sales and Marketing Manager. My responsibilities included leading a sales team, managing sales pipelines, orchestrating both boardroom and virtual meetings, and driving marketing and advertising initiatives across social media platforms. I also kept the company website up-to-date, attended expos, and ensured exceptional client satisfaction. During this position, I learnt various skills such as Digital Marketing, Marketing Communications, Critical Thinking and Creativity.

For the past three years, I have been dedicated to enhancing the educational experience of 200 first-year students at UNISA's College of Human Sciences. As a Teaching Assistant, I provided comprehensive support in navigating the online learning platform, announced critical assessment deadlines, attended online classes, and addressed student queries regarding the module and their assessments. My main duties included marking online assessments, submitting my marking to the department for moderation, releasing marks to the students and delivering constructive feedback to promote academic success. This position has enhanced my communication and time management skills.

To summarize the above, I bring a wealth of diverse experience and a proven track record of excellence in various fields.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in law and a Master's degree in International law. I am a lawyer by profession and I have been teaching English to students from different parts of the world since 2021. I have taught children and adults from beginner to advanced English levels. I have experience teaching both private and group lessons online and physically. My teaching style is fun, adaptable and interactive. I am here to ensure that you learn English for example (grammar, vocabulary, comprehension and listening) in the most simplified and encouraging way. My name is Craig Johnson. I have over 17 years teaching experience with students of all ages. Business and academic English, proficiency exams, tutoring, and more entertaining experiences as a preschool and public school age teacher.

I have conducted numerous communication seminars and interactive workshops, including presentations, interviews, persuasion, negotiating, meetings, small group communication, and more.

I graduated university with a 4.0 GPA (perfect grades) and the highest honors with degree in Communications Studies. I was the #1 overall academic student during my final year.

I strive for deep understanding of students’ inherent strengths and weaknesses, and am able to tailor and personalize the teaching methods to best assist them. My goal is to exponentialize student learning and study time value. For example, 3+4= 7, a direct 100% return (ROI), while 3x4=12, an almost 200% return. However, 3 to the power of 4=81. This is the type of value I am determined to deliver to all students, regardless of age or format.

I started teaching English back in 2011. Since then, I've worked with professionals and university students of various language skills and levels. I am from Aleppo, Syria and I currently live in Istanbul, Turkey. Being raised by two teachers, teaching has always been my passion. My other passion is technology, and teaching online is the perfect combination of the two, which is why I enjoy and excel at what I do.
